Porto Badisco

Porto Badisco is a seaside resort located in one of the most characteristic areas of Puglia and all of Salento. It is a small cove set on the rocky coast with a few sandy stretches. Porto Badisco is located south of Otranto, in the province of Lecce, halfway towards Santa Cesarea Terme. Characteristics of Porto Badisco are the sea, the luxuriant Mediterranean scrub and the cliffs overlooking the sea.

Porto Badisco Beach

Porto Badisco Beach

Porto Badisco beach is considered by many to be the most beautiful beach in Salento. The beach is located in the center of the town and is one of the most beautiful and fascinating natural corners of all of Salento.

The inlet is set along the Adriatic coast between Otranto and Santa Maria di Leuca, with a few sandy stretches but with an easy and fun descent into the water.

The typical days on the beach in Porto Badisco is a valid alternative to the typical day on the sandy beaches lying in the sun: in Porto Badisco the days at sea are enriched by diving from the rocks and snacks under the trees that reach the sea.

To testify the ancient history of Porto Badisco, and of the Salento area in general, there is the Grotta dei Cervi, a cave inhabited already in the Neolithic by the first populations who occupied the place.

The Grotta dei Cervi is characterized by numerous ravines and coves, and contains important finds and drawings made with bat guano dating back to the Neolithic period.

In the direction of Santa Cesarea there is also the Grotta delle Striare (or of the witches), another famous cave in the area, characteristic for its entrance crossed diagonally by a strip of rock.
